Light the Night — Calvary Chapel of Corvallis
Terms of Service
Effective Version 1.0
These terms apply to your use of lightthenight.app and your participation as a volunteer at Light the Night, a free community event hosted by Calvary Chapel of Corvallis ("Calvary Corvallis," "we," "us") on October 31, 2026 at 2125 NW Lester Ave, Corvallis, OR.
Volunteering
Signing up creates a volunteer commitment, not employment. Serving assignments and times are coordinated by our staff and may be adjusted before or during the event; we will notify you of changes. If you can no longer serve, please drop your shift through your confirmation link or contact the church office so we can fill your spot.
Background checks
Some serving areas involving children (currently Balloon Animal Making and Kids Games & Activities) require a completed background check through the church's screening process before serving. Signing up for these areas is a request to serve, pending that clearance.
Minors
There is no minimum age to volunteer. Volunteers under 18 serve under the supervision of event staff, and we encourage them to serve alongside a parent or guardian. By allowing a minor to volunteer, the parent or guardian accepts these terms on the minor's behalf.
Event participation & assumption of risk
Light the Night is a physical, outdoor community event that includes activities such as inflatables, a hayride, and a mechanical bull operated by a professional vendor. Volunteers agree to follow staff instructions and safety guidance. To the extent permitted by law, volunteers (and parents or guardians of minor volunteers) acknowledge the ordinary risks of participating in such an event and release Calvary Chapel of Corvallis, its staff, and its volunteers from liability for injuries arising from those ordinary risks, except where caused by negligence or willful misconduct.
Photography
Light the Night is a public event. Photos and video are taken and may be used by Calvary Corvallis to share about the event. If you prefer not to appear in published photos, tell us at office@calvarycorvallis.org and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate.
Text messages
SMS terms (frequency, rates, HELP/STOP) are described in our Privacy Policy. SMS consent is optional and separate from these terms.
The website
The site is provided as-is for volunteer coordination. Don't misuse it (no unauthorized access, scraping of volunteer data, or interference). We may update these terms; the version and effective date on this page will change when we do. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
